Meeting Cancellation - The Working Class Republican: Ronald Reagan and the Return of Blue Collar Conservatism - Jan 10

.
Our weekly e-mail last Saturday (Dec 16) had said that IAW our normal policy, our Jan 10 meeting would be cancelled if we did not receive our minimum quorum of six RSVP’s by last midnight.

Accordingly, our Jan 10 meeting is cancelled.

Since the U.S. Constitution still contains the Right to Assembly and the Right to Free Speech, the RSVP’s for a cancelled meeting often decide to have an unofficial meeting to discuss the focus book.

However, unofficial means no more promotion (Short Quizzes, Suggested Discussion Outlines, etc.) and that the unofficial meeting cannot take any official action such as voting for the focus book for the following month or voting to launch one of our Six-Degrees-Of-Separation E-mails.

The focus book for the following month, in such circumstances, is the Proposed Focus Book posted in the second section of http://www.ReadingLiberally-SaltLake.org that has received the greatest number of “views.”

Accordingly, the focus book for Wed Feb 7 (both Valentine’s Day and Ash Wednesday fall on Feb 14) is Ted Gurney’s proposal of “$2.00 a Day: Living on Almost Nothing in America” by Kathryn J. Edin and H. Luke Shaefer [Originally published by Houghton Mifflin September 2015 – Paperback edition by Mariner Books – 240 pages.]

Amazon.com -- $8.40 paperback + shipping or $9.99 Kindle.
Other bookstores listed on Amazon -- from $4.69 used + shipping.
