Common Cause is a nonpartisan lobbying group based in Washington, D.C. in the United States. Its current president and CEO is Robert W. Edgar.[1][2]
Founded in 1970 by John W. Gardner,[3] Common Cause employs professional lobbyists, researchers and advocates who work with its members and activists for campaign finance reform, accountability in government, media reform and other issues.

Common Cause published Common Cause Magazine,[4] once termed "the little magazine that could,"[5] from 1980 through 1996.
