I propose that we read “Red-Handed: How American Elites Get Rich Helping China Win” by Peter Schweizer (HarperCollins 1/25/2022 – 245 pages sans notes & index – Hardcover $17.17 + shipping or $14.99 Kindle from Amazon.com) – which has now been on the NY Times Non-Fiction Best-Seller List for all 10 weeks since its publication.

More than 90% of my recommendations have been the subject of a NYC Harvard Club presentation by the author(s) following which participants pepper the author(s) with questions.

HOWEVER, it appears that the NYC Harvard Club will not invite Peter Schweitzer to talk about “Red-Handed.”

[Or has Peter Schweitzer declined an invitation from the NYC Harvard Club to discuss “Red-Handed”???]

IN ANY EVENT, this NY Times Best-Selling Book by a multi-time NY Times Best-Selling Author appears to be an excellent introduction to how American business and political elites get rich helping China.

PARTICULARLY IN VIEW of the recent realization by the “mainstream media” that the Hunter Biden laptop left in a Delaware repair shop in 2019 and, when not picked up, turned over to the FBI was genuine and their “studied ignorance” of the pre-election corroboration by Tony Bobulinski (CEO of the Biden family’s Sinohawk Holdings joint venture with the Peoples Republic of China’s CEFC China Energy) vis-à-vis which Tony Bobulinski announced in a C-Span Video on 10/22/2020 that he would provide the following day to the FBI and U.S. Senators three cell phones which had never left his possession and which he claimed proved, inter alia, that he had met with President Biden at length to discuss Sinohawk Holdings and that President Biden would be receiving 10% of the profits (please see https://www.c-span.org/video/?477307-1/ ... nter-biden).

[NB: President Biden was a private citizen when the Sinohawk deal was negotiated in 2017 but you would have to be a proverbial “babe in the woods” who was “born yesterday” to believe that CEFC China Energy thought they were buying influence with a “private citizen” who had no chance of becoming President.]

BTW, Yours Truly was Senior Tax Counsel of Texaco Inc. 1974-1987 when it was still a Fortune-Ten Company, and when the U.S. Government enacted the Tax Reform Act of 1976 which provided severe tax penalties on US-based companies that bribed foreign-government officials!!! It would appear that American pols have learned about the BIG MONEY that can be made IN REVERSE by taking BRIBES from foreigners!!! Though in many cases it is really EXTORTION of foreigners by American pols!!!

Also BTW, I am ashamed to admit that many members of my Harvard Law School Class of 1967 specialize in handling such bribes of, and extortion by, AMERICAN POLS in devious ways to avoid America’s porous criminal laws.
