Suggested Discussion Outline

Post by johnkarls »

.
The following outline is respectfully suggested –

**********************
A. Comments About “The Samson Option: Israel’s Nuclear Arsenal and American Foreign Policy” – 60 minutes

Our tradition is to devote the first portion of each monthly meeting to going through the focus book, chapter by chapter, to invite important comments that are specific to a particular chapter. After all, each participant (except, perhaps, “first timers”) have taken the time to read the focus book and her/his opportunity to opine on anything in the focus book should NOT be denied.

HOWEVER, our total meeting time of 120 minutes should prove a SEVERE constraint, so to ensure this portion of our Dec 13 meeting only takes 60 minutes –

rather than going through the book chapter-by-chapter,

I propose that participants take turns making their most-important comments about any aspect of the book until the 60 minutes expire.

B. Further Discussion – 45 minutes

The items posted in our website’s “Participant Comments” section (viewforum.php?f=772&sid=35f3bf385849d19 ... 2a5bf4a626) and “Reference Materials” section (viewforum.php?f=771&sid=35f3bf385849d19 ... 2a5bf4a626) should have provoked many discussion topics.

Accordingly, to the extent they were not covered in Sec. A above, it is suggested that 45 minutes be allocated to addressing them.

C. Re-Directing to President Biden our 10/14/2009 Plea to Pres. Obama regarding a “Marshall Plan” for Palestinians – 15 minutes

The 10/14/2009 plea was quoted in this month’s first “Participant Comment” (viewtopic.php?f=772&t=2438&sid=5fb59ec8 ... 5b2668514a).

Additional Campaigns???

If anyone has any additional proposals, please post them in this “Discussion Outline” section of our website.

Hopefully, 24 hours in advance so that participants can give them proper consideration.

THOUGH, OF COURSE, CAMPAIGNS THAT ARE CONCEIVED SPONTANEOUSLY DURING A MEETING ARE NOT PROHIBITED.
