Meeting Report - Second Class: How the Elites Betrayed America's Working Men and Women

Post by johnkarls »

.

Meeting Reports have been provided less than 10% of the time – usually only when we are inundated with requests for information about what happened.

That is the case this month – which is not surprising since our website usually has only 35-50 users any time night or day, and following the posting of the Suggested Answers to the Short Quiz on April 24 (21 days before the meeting), our website rarely had fewer than 120 users at any time night or day.

Cancel Culture

We always pride ourselves in being a NON-PARTISAN PUBLIC-POLICY STUDY/ACTION organization that wastes no time in trying to get anyone elected but, instead, “goes with the winners” and provides DECISIONMAKERS WITH ADVICE.

Nevertheless, we are the frequent target of cancel-culture activists who are obvious partisans ashamed of what their heroes have done.

On May 15, I logged onto Zoom’s website 30-45 minutes early as usual to ensure nothing was amiss.

And after starting our meeting’s Zoom website, I was not permitted to open my audio or video – even though no hardware or software had been changed since my weekly Harvard Law School Class of 1967 Zoom Chat on May 13.

So all of our participants were alerted to switch to the Zoom platform of one of the other participants.

From which I was also barred by not being permitted to open my audio or video.

So we got underway on time with Yours Truly participating by cell phone perched on the keyboard of the other participant who was now hosting the meeting.

Batya's BIG Lie

The first half of our 2-hour meetings is always devoted to going through the focus book, chapter by chapter – please see the Suggested Discussion Outline at viewtopic.php?f=801&t=2509&sid=7448dc88 ... 0ea0a1b41f.

Nothing was particularly controversial until we reached the book’s conclusion.

There (p. 209) Batya poses the question – “Who should the working-class vote for?”

She then FALSELY claims –

“The truth is that we have one party in the country that represents corporations and the Chamber of Commerce and another that represents the educated, credentialed elite and the dependent poor,”

FIRST, everyone agreed that psychologists say that any sentence that begins with “The truth is” is guaranteed to be a lie.

BUT MORE IMPORTANTLY, everyone agreed with the analysis of Q&A-3 through Q&A-9 of the Short Quiz (please see viewtopic.php?f=800&t=2506&sid=7448dc88 ... 0ea0a1b41f) –

(1) Second Class found that the three most-important ways in which American workers feel betrayed are –

(A) The exportation for 24 years 1993-2016 of blue-collar jobs to China, et al.
(B) The wide-open Southern border which has produced a flood of illegal immigrants who drive down wages for blue-collar workers.
(C) The lack of adequate healthcare whose deductibles and copays spell disaster.

and

(2) Former Pres. Trump

(A) Fought to bring, and many cases succeeded in bringing, American jobs back to America, and
(B) Closed the Southern border (which Pres. Biden then promptly flung wide open).

IN OTHER WORDS, Batya’s lie that the Republican Party represents corporations and the Chamber of Commerce must rank among the Top 100 Whoppers of the Last 100 Years!!!

Which, of course, is why the American working class supports so solidly Donald Trump in the current election.

And, if anything, Corporate American campaign financing (largely "dark money" from Silicon Valley) is funneled to his opponent in order to preserve Silicon Valley’s exportation of jobs to Chine, et al.

Discussion of Short Quiz Answers Q&A-10 through Q&A-15

These were the Questions for which the Suggested Answers had been “What Do You Think – Let’s Discuss” –

10. Do you think “Second Class” will discover that the American working class ignores all of the prosecutions against Donald Trump because the working class is still largely religious and, consequently, well aware of how Christ was persecuted because of His love for the common people?

11. In other words, that Donald Trump is a “Messianic figure”?

12. Do you think that if the Judge in Alvin Bragg’s NYC trial who is at the moment considering what punishment to impose for Donald Trump’s alleged violations of his “gag order,” imposes incarceration and, like Jeffrey Epstein in 2019, Trump is found dead in his jail cell, the American working class will believe that just like Christ died for them, Donald Trump died for them?

13. Do you think it is far-fetched to suppose that, due to the seemingly-unlimited hatred by Batya Ungar-Sargon’s “Elites” for Donald Trump, he is likely to be assassinated before election day?

14. BTW, do you think that Donald Trump views himself as a “Messianic figure” who is fighting for the American working class?

15. And that at his age, he would relish being a martyr for the American working class?

The conclusion of the group was that the answer to all but Q-13 is ABSOLUTELY!!!

Disagreement Re Q&A-13 Whether Donald Trump Is Likely To Be Assassinated

All of the other participants, but one, thought the percentage chance was approximately 20% -25%.

However, George Kunath opined that it was no more than a rounding error and challenged me to bet $5 whether it was more likely than not.

I said that although I believe it is more likely than not, I refuse to bet on such a distasteful issue.

FIRST, I pointed out that Donald Trump is extremely vulnerable as illustrated by the Chick-fil-A incident when, following a campaign stop in Atlanta circa April 10, he entered the restaurant and ordered milkshakes and chicken for all 30 customers and staff.

One of the staff, an African-American female, shouted out a compliment to Donald Trump.

Whereupon, Donald Trump insisted she approach him in order to receive a big hug.

Now suppose she had been a Trump hater!!!

Seeing Trump and his entourage approaching the Chick-fil-A, she could easily have concealed in her clothing one of the large knives used by Chick-fil-A staff to cut chicken.

Then calling out a compliment to solicit a spontaneous invitation from Trump to approach him for a big hug would end in a fatal stabbing.

NB: When Trump insisted in real life that she approach, she slipped between two Secret Service Agents, neither of whom frisked her much less paid her any particular notice.

MORE IMPORTANTLY, I pointed out that George has, in effect, lived in “an ivory tower” far divorced from the reality of assassination.

In contrast, during the Summer of 1966 before my last year of law school, I was part of the first US Gov Task following the Supreme Court’s 1954 Brown v Board decision to actually dismantle the de jure dual-school systems of the 17 slave states that had effectively survived under a “freedom of choice” system. And yes, African-Americans knew that “freely choosing” the white school would be signing their own death warrants!!!

1966 was ONLY 2 years AFTER the assassinations in Mississippi of James Chaney, Andrew Goodman and Michael Schwerner who had been working on the “Freedom Summer” campaign of the Congress of Racial Equality (CORE) to register African-Americans to vote and 1966 was 3 years BEFORE the assassinations of The Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and Bobby Kennedy.

At one point, my African-American partner and I were within 60 seconds of being assassinated per the North Carolina State Police who had been summoned by a Tasty Freez manager to protect his property AND WERE OBVIOUSLY DISGUSTED TO DISCOVER THEY HAD SAVED OUR LIVES AS A BY-PRODUCT.

[For more details, please see viewtopic.php?f=150&t=2006&p=2741&hilit ... 35a2#p2741.]

My African-American partner and I had agreed at the beginning of the summer that being assassinated, if such was our fate, would crown lives well lived.
