Suggested Discussion Outline

Post by johnkarls »

.

Traditionally, each month’s Suggested Discussion Outline has comprised 2-3 parts – 60 minutes for each of Parts A and B with subtractions to accommodate any Sec. C Proposals –

A. Comments About Specific Chapters of the Focus Book – going through them chapter-by-chapter.

B. Further Discussion – of Questions in the Short Quizzes for which the Suggested Answers were “What Do You Think??? Let’s Discuss!!!”

C. Possible Public-Policy Campaigns Directed At Decision Makers – flexible minutes from Sections A & B if there are any proposals.

Part C – Possible Public-Policy Campaigns

*****
From Yours Truly –

Yours Truly has opined on many occasions that Taiwan’s salvation depends on – “Realpolitik - Has Taiwan Been Prudent Enough To Buy/Develop Sufficient Nuclear Weapons To Deter China?”

In the Third Short Quiz, Yours Truly wrote -

Q-20 -- As a non-partisan public-policy study/action group, have we done everything in our power to help the Taiwanese???

A-20 -- What do you think??? Let’s discuss!!!

So should we write to the President of the Republic of China (i.e., Taiwan) to be sure we have???

*****
Additional Campaigns???

If anyone has any additional proposals, please post them in this “Discussion Outline” section of our website - hopefully, 24 hours in advance so that participants can give them proper consideration.

THOUGH, OF COURSE, CAMPAIGNS THAT ARE CONCEIVED SPONTANEOUSLY DURING A MEETING ARE NOT PROHIBITED.

Parts A and B

It is respectfully suggested that these parts be merged for May 21.

Yes, each of the three Short Quizzes contained many questions for which the Suggested Answer was “What Do You Think??? Let’s Discuss!!!”

HOWEVER, each Short Quiz began with the admonition – “It is respectfully suggested that you make a list of your own questions that are provoked – since all of us are unique and your questions are worth discussing also!!!”

AND with three short quizzes PLUS THE ADMONITION, it seems more manageable to combine Parts A and B.

After all, if nobody is interested in any Short Quiz question for which the answer was “What Do You Think??? Let’s Discuss!!!” then let’s not waste time on it.

SO PLEASE, EVERYONE, ADD TO YOUR LIST OF QUESTIONS YOU WERE ADMONISHED TO CREATE, ANY SHORT QUIZ QUESTIONS THAT YOU WOULD LIKE TO DISCUSS – AND WE’LL BE “OFF AND RUNNING” --

WITH YOURS TRULY TRYING TO PACE OURSELVES SO THAT WE COVER THE ENTIRE BOOK.

Each of the Short Quizzes and Suggested Answers are accessible through the Menu at viewforum.php?f=851&sid=739e48b53ce780d ... fea0dfa6d2.
