On 11/29/2024, each of our then-234 members was invited to join our new Working Group on China – please see our Email invitation at viewtopic.php?f=831&t=2574&sid=1d2d6c82 ... 071ca3cd87 which explained that Sec. 8 of www.ReadingLiberally-SaltLake.org states, we form Working Groups “whenever a particular policy issue (1) may require immediate action on the spur of the moment (rendering addressing it at the next regular monthly meeting impractical), and/or (2) may require long-term attention.”

Our China Working Group unanimously prepared the following letter to Taiwan President Lai Chong-te --

However. as a courtesy since our May 21 monthly meeting was discussing “Why Taiwan Matters: A Short History of a Small Island That Will Dictate Our Future” by Prof. Kerry Brown, the China Working Group waited for the May 21 monthly meeting where the Working Group’s letter also met with unanimous approval.

BTW, when it was sent the following morning, FedEx could NOT provide an expected delivery date – presumably because China would be engaging in another practice invasion of Taiwan.

FedEx has since posted an expected delivery date of Mon May 26.
