Did Prof. Dershowitz Postpone His NYC Harvard Club Presentation After Reading Our Third Short Quiz & Suggested Answers?

When the NYC Harvard Club’s Program Office opened this morning a few moments ago, it changed the Club’s Calendar to announce that Prof. Dershowitz’ presentation on “The Preventive State” has been postponed from June 11.

[It was not announced as “cancelled” though many “postponed” presentations over the years became permanent.]

Six days before the announcement, both the Third Short Quiz and its Suggested Answers were posted, suggesting --

(1) that Prof. Dershowitz is GOING INTO THE LIONS’ DEN – to be surrounded by believers of THE BIG PALESTINIAN LIE (especially the younger graduates who have been "brain washed" by modern professors).

(2) that Prof. Dershowitz would be much more intelligent to spend his 30 minutes of presentation (before the 30 minutes of Q&A) talking about --

• How St. Augustine’s Doctrine of Blood Guilt was official Roman Catholic theology until 1965, three decades too late to avert Hitler’s pogram (aka Holocaust), AND

• THE BIG PALESTINIAN LIE and its perpetuation of “Twenty-Three Centuries of Antisemitism."

(3) and then let “the lion’s den” try to warp the Q&A period around to his ill-focused “The Preventive State” (ill focused per his claimed thesis of preventing Iranian nuclear weapons) because, after all, Prof. Dershowitz and the “lions” will probably be “talking past each other” since the “lions” are true believers in THE BIG PALESTINIAN LIE.

Two Observations

FIRST, whether our suggestions had anything to do with the postponement is conjectural – but many of our 63 public-policy recommendations to national/international decision makers over our 19.5 years (listed in Sec. 1 of www.ReadingLiberally-SaltLake.org) have been surprisingly effective.

So it is not “far fetched” to speculate vis-à-vis a relatively-trivial matter whether we did Prof. Dershowitz a favor with the Third Short Quiz & Suggested Answers.

SECOND, it was a small thrill to be checking the NYC Harvard Club’s Calendar an hour ago when Prof. Dershowitz’ Presentation was still “a go,” and then to discover a few minutes later that it had been “postponed” in the few intervening minutes.

'Yes, last Monday's posting noted that many postponements morph into cancellations.

Hopefully the cause was not ill health!!!

John Karls contacted Prof. Dershowitz’ closest professional associate to ascertain why he had postponed and then cancelled his NYC Harvard Club presentation of “The Preventive State” – surmising that it was either a health issue or a security problem (Prof. Dershowitz had disclosed recently that he had had to hire personal security).

The associate didn’t know, but was able to confirm that the reason was NOT a health issue.

Last evening (Fri June 13), Prof. Dershowitz appeared on Fox News’ Hannity Program to comment on the claim by Minnesota Governor and running mate of Kamala Harris in the 2025 Presidential Election – Tim Walz – that America does not have the moral authority to negotiate an end to the current Israel-Iran hostilities, and that only the PRC does.

However, Prof. Dershowitz began his remarks by saying -

(1) that he had NOT postponed his NYC Harvard Club Presentation of "The Preventive State,"

(2) that when the NYC Harvard Club announced its postponement, he contacted the Club to ascertain what was happening and was informed that he had been cancelled!!!

I couldn't be more delighted from the perspective that he had NOT postponed or cancelled - that he had been prepared to "go into the Lions' Den" to defend Israel realizing that he might well have become a martyr!!!

Bravissimo!!!
