Suggested Discussion Outline

Post by johnkarls »

.

The following outline is respectfully suggested –

**********************
A. Comments About Specific Chapters of “Blood Money” by Peter Schweizer – 60 minutes

Our tradition is to devote the first portion of each monthly meeting to going through the focus book, chapter by chapter, to invite important comments that are specific to a particular chapter. After all, each participant (except, perhaps, “first timers”) have taken the time to read the focus book and her/his opportunity to opine on anything in the focus book should NOT be denied.

HOWEVER, our total meeting time of 120 minutes should prove a SEVERE constraint, so please be sure your comments really are important.

Introduction – Vacant Eyes

Part I – Murder With A Borrowed Knife
Chapter 1 – The New Opium Wars
Chapter 2 – China’s Foot Soldiers
Chapter 3 – Willful Blindness

Part II – Watch A Fire From Across The River
Chapter 4 – Arming Criminals
Chapter 5 – Magnifying Social Chaos
Chapter 6 – Destabilizing Democracy

Part III – Hide A Daggar In A Smile
Chapter 7 – A TikToking Bomb
Chapter 8 – Digital Entertainment
Chapter 9 – The People’s Republic of Hollywood

Part IV – Loot A Burning House
Chapter 10 – Social Engineering a Pandemic
Chapter 11 – A Cover-Up for China and Themselves

Conclusion

Two observations which also merited posting in “Participant Comments” –

*****
Observation (1)

Schweizer begins his Introduction with a quotation from Winston Churchill –

“Here then was one of the great secrets of the war and of the world… But hardly anyone would believe it…and almost all the great responsible authorities stood gazing at it with vacant eyes.” Winston Churchill, The World Crisis (vol. 2).

Our long-time members know that Winston Churchill is my favorite historical character, as a result of which I have read everything published by him and virtually all erudite things published about him.

So I immediately took my copy of Volume 2 of The World Crisis – and couldn’t find the alleged quotation.

And have no idea what Churchill was allegedly describing in the alleged quotation. Possibilities --

(1) Churchill was often called “The Father of the Tank” dating from World War I.

(2) Churchill had the vision as U.K. First Lord of the Admiralty (the equivalent of Secretary of the Navy in the U.S., except that the British navy was more dominant in the British scheme of things - “Rule Britannia, Britannia Rules the Waves” was effectively their National Anthem) –

the vision to knock out of World War I at the outset the Ottoman Empire by using the element of surprise to, WIHOUT WARNING, SUDDENLY sail up the Dardanelles Strait and capture Istanbul (the Ottoman capital still known as Constantinople until 1930).

[Though, admittedly, the world would have been deprived of one of the all-time great movies – “Lawrence of Arabia”!!!]

But Churchill’s plan was sabotaged by the local fleet commander who dithered for so long because of doubt (or, more probably, cowardice) that the Turks had plenty of time after the arrival of the British fleet while it languished at anchor, to put beaucoup artillery on the Gallipoli Heights overlooking the Dardanelles to doom Churchill’s brilliant plan.

But even though Churchill was not to blame for the ensuing debacle, he did NOT complain but simply resigned as First Lord and joined his old regiment on the front lines in France where he constantly exposed himself to enemy fire, obviously hoping to be killed.

(3) Other possibilities???

I’m NOT going to bother trying to figure out what Schweizer’s alleged quotation is addressing since my time can be spent on many other worthwhile things instead.

Observation (2)

On p, 14, Schweizer says –

“On May 23, 1982, Chinese leader Deng Xiaoping sat down with two immensely wealthy Hong Kong tycoons, La Ka-shing and Henry Fok, for a civic peace summit. Both were enormously successful investors in real estate and finance, and also known to have links to the triads. The cooperation Deng proposed was simple. Over the course of the next several decades, Hong Kong industrialists and triad leaders would demonstrate allegiance to the CCP, and the CCP WOULD ALLOW THEM TO OPERATE LARGELY UNFETTERED IN HONG KONG.” [All Caps emphasis added.]

The problem???

Hong Kong was a British Colony until 7/1/1997 and Deng had no ability from 1982-1997 to permit unfettered ops in Hong Kong – or not.

*****
Conclusion???

Schweizer is so sloppy (and Harper-Collins provided him with such an IGNORANT editor) that it is difficult, if not impossible, to believe anything in his book.

D. Possible Public-Policy Campaigns Directed At Decision Makers – Flexible minutes, if needed, from Sections B and C

*****
From Yours Truly – None

Though please see Yours Truly’s 12/3/2023 “Proposed Topic for a Future Meeting” entitled “Realpolitik - Has Taiwan Been Prudent Enough To Buy/Develop Sufficient Nuclear Weapons To Deter China?” at viewtopic.php?f=150&t=2440&sid=dc3b37b1 ... 0c77a377de.

BTW, Schweizer makes a big deal out of Chinese public opinion against the U.S. as a result of the British/French “Opium Wars” of 1838-1860. Two comments –

(1) This “displaced aggression” illustrates the importance of “brain washing.”

(2) Willing to bet the Citizens of the Republic of China (aka Taiwan) have NOT been similarly “brain washed.”

*****
Additional Campaigns???

If anyone has any additional proposals, please post them in this “Discussion Outline” section of our website - hopefully, 24 hours in advance so that participants can give them proper consideration.

THOUGH, OF COURSE, CAMPAIGNS THAT ARE CONCEIVED SPONTANEOUSLY DURING A MEETING ARE NOT PROHIBITED.

BTW, IF "BLOOD MONEY" IS TO BE BELIEVED (DESPITE THE "OBSERVATIONS" IN SEC. C ABOVE), WHAT THE U.S. GOV NEEDS IS A "JOE STALIN-TYPE PURGE" - BUT IMHO THAT ISN'T PRACTICAL WITH OUR POLITICAL SYSTEM (PARTICULARLY WITH THE MAINSTREAM MEDIA AND THE DEMOCRAT PARTY PLAYING "TEAM POLITICS" NO MATTER WHAT). [And, yes, I am mindful that Schweizer names many Republican culprits starting with Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell.]
