To Each of Our 229 Members One-By-One – for reasons explained in the 4 postings in Sec. 2 of www.ReadingLiberally-SaltLake.org.

Dear Friends,

As many of you will recall and Sec. 8 of www.ReadingLiberally-SaltLake.org states, we form Working Groups “whenever a particular policy issue (1) may require immediate action on the spur of the moment (rendering addressing it at the next regular monthly meeting impractical), and/or (2) may require long-term attention.”

The Suggested Discussion Outline for our Zoom Meeting this past Wed Aug 20 had contained in its Sec. C (“Possible Public-Policy Campaigns Directed At Decision Makers”) – “Taking a position against Harvard in Trump vs. Harvard* for its alleged Anti-Semitism.”

* Our website further explained that this is technically Harvard vs. US Dept of Health and Human Services in the US Dist Ct for Mass (Case No. 1:25-cv-11048-ADB).

And our website further elaborated at great length on why the proposed action should take the form of --

(A) A letter to US Attorney General Pam Bondi with a Cc to President Trump that

(B) insists that any settlement with Harvard ban teaching THE BIG PALESTINIAN LIE, and

(C) insists the pleadings be amended (the case will probably go, at least eventually, to the US Supreme Court) to prevent any Harvard Professor from teaching THE BIG PALESTINIAN LIE.

Please see the elaboration in “THE BIG PALESTINIAN LIE As CRIMINAL LIBEL (or Impermissible ‘Defamatory Hate Speech’)” at viewtopic.php?f=870&t=2696&sid=09c733ab ... 02ae1ac351

*****
At our Aug 20 meeting, it was unanimously agreed that “Anti-Semitism on College Campuses” is a long-term issue requiring a Working Group because --

• Harvard is not the only malfeasor,

• Brown U reached an agreement re anti-Semitism on 7/8/2024 with the US Dept of Ed’s Office of Civil Rights that did NOT restrain Brown U Professors from teaching/preaching THE BIG PALESTINIAN LIE even though it comprises CRIMINAL LIBEL (or Impermissible “Defamatory Hate Speech”)

• Many other colleges/universities (most prominently Columbia U) have been in the headlines for their Anti-Semitism.

If you would like to volunteer for this new Working Group, please press Reply and type “I volunteer.”

Your friend,

John K.
