A. Chapters 12-18

1. Does Chapter 12 (The Deportations Resume) say that Battalion 101 members were able to recall their shootings and deportations July - Sept 1942 as distinctly separate BUT Oct - mid-Nov they were so busy, their actions blurred together???

2. Was capacity at Treblinka enlarged sufficiently that deportations resumed 1 Oct 1942???

3. Indeed, weren’t simultaneous deportations being conducted by different Companies of Battalion 101???

4. Do pp. 107-113 then contain descriptions of beaucoup atrocities???

5. Does Chapter 13 (The Strange Health of Captain Hoffmann) say the Third Company of Battalion 101 happened to be spared from the killings until early Oct, whereupon Company Commander Wolfgang Hoffmann began suffering diarrhea and severe stomach cramps, supervising his Company from bed until he was hospitalized Nov 2???

6. And upon returning to the Company for one month after the New Year, was he re-hospitalized and fired as the Company Commander???

7. Does Chapter 14 (The “Jew Hunt”) record that following Battalion 101 killing at least 6,500 Jews and deporting 42,000 more to Treblinka by mid-Nov 1942, they were assigned to find and “eliminate” all of the Jews who had escaped their efforts and were in hiding???

8. Did this once again – after the detachment of deporting Jews to Treblinka – involve face-to-face confrontations with the Jews they were shooting???

9. Were the “Jew Hunts” a strategically-important and statistically-important aspect of Nazi policy???

10. Does Chapter 15 (The Last Massacres: “Harvest Festival”) record that on 11/2/1943 Polish Jewry by now comprised virtually-solely “Work Jews” and they were shot with, per the Appendix (p. 293), Battalion 101 killing 30,500???

11. Does Chapter 16 (Aftermath) say, after “Ordinary Men” had said early on that the Police Battalions comprised middle-aged men of no use to the German Army, that after “Harvest Festival” Battalion 101 found itself fighting the Russian Army as the Third Reich collapsed???

12. Did most of Battalion 101 make it back to Germany where most resumed their previous occupations???

13. Though Battalion 101 Commander Trapp and two associates were extradited to Poland in 1947 where Trapp and one associate were executed in Dec 1948, was nothing further done until the 1960’s when occurred all of the interrogations of Battalion 101 members on which “Ordinary Men” are based???

14. Were only 14 indicted with, after appeals, only 2 receiving sentences (4 & 3.5 years)??? Was the investigation and trial vis-à-vis Battalion 101 rare because of its ineffectualness???

15. Does Chapter 17 (Germans, Poles, and Jews) comment at length about relations between Germans and Poles, Germans and Jews, and Poles and Jews???

16. Is one aspect surprising at first – that the Germans were NOT to have any sexual relations with Poles or Jews??? Though upon reflection, isn’t such a policy aimed at maintaining the purity of the “master race”???

17. Does Chapter 18 (Ordinary Men) pose the ultimate question (p. 159) “Why did most men in Reserve Battalion 101 become killers, while only a minority of “perhaps 10 percent – and certainly no more than 20 percent” – did not?”???

18. Does Chapter 18 examine the theories of zillions of other Holocaust experts???

19. DO CHRISTOPHER BROWNING AND HIS ZILLIONS OF “EXPERTS” IGNORE THE OBVIOUS???

***************
B. St. Augustine’s “Doctrine of Blood Guilt” That Every Jew Alive At Any Time INCLUDING THE PRESENT, Is Guilty Of The “Murder” Of Christ

1. Doesn’t Sec. 1 of the First Short Quiz (viewtopic.php?f=869&t=2688&sid=2898e4f0 ... 033cdede81) address our previous studies of how St. Augustine’s Doctrine of Blood Guilt” produced TWO MILLENNIA OF POGROMS???

2. And that it was NOT revoked by the Roman Catholic Church until Vatican II in 1965???

3. So why is there any mystery why majority-Catholic Germany, wholly-Catholic Poland (and other Nazi-occupied Catholic Countries such as France) would cause a massive pogrom called the Holocaust – based on the theme “Europe free of Jews”???

4. After all, hadn’t Christianity already convicted the Jews of the “murder” of Christ – so all that remained to be done was their execution???

5. Does Christopher Browning even stoop to claiming (p. 180) –

“The main threat to a healthy awareness of the need for territorial expansion and racial purity came from….. Christianity?????!!!!!

6. Why do Christopher Browning and his zillions of “experts” feel the necessity of defending Christianity, in general, and the Roman Catholic Church, in particular, for the two millennia of pogroms including the last pogrom (aka Holocaust)???

***************
C. The “Ordinary Men” Sole & Curious Reference to the Nuremberg Trials

1. Does Chapter 16 (Aftermath) contain the sole reference (per the Index) to either Nuremberg or the Nuremberg trials???

2. In discussing at length the 1967 et seq. criminal trials of Battalion 101 members for which 210 were interrogated and on which interrogations “Ordinary Men” is based, does Christopher Browning’s sole reference to Nuremberg say (p. 145) vis-à-vis the 1967 et seq. trials --

“…..so as to avoid the criticism leveled at the Nuremberg trials of applying ‘ex post facto’ law…..”

3. Were the “Nuremberg trials” held by the Allies/ 11/20/1945 - 10/1/1946 at Nuremberg Germany against 22 of the most important surviving leaders of Nazi Germany???

4. Were 12 sentenced to death, 7 sent to prison, and 3 acquitted???

5. Did the U.S. then on its own conduct follow-up trials against 177 defendants, 142 of whom were convicted and 25 of whom were sentenced to death???

6. Is there any evidence that any defendants at either set of trials claimed that “ex post facto” laws were being applied???

7. Does Christopher Browning even deign to “drop a footnote” to support his claim that the Nuremberg trials applied “ex post facto” laws???

***************
D. Afterward (pp. 191-223)

1. Was the Afterward written 6 years after publication of “Ordinary Men” because Harvard Prof. Daniel Jonah Goldhagen published in 1996 a book entitled “Hitler's Willing Executioners: Ordinary Germans and the Holocaust” which was highly critical of Christopher Browning’s “Ordinary Men”???

2. Does Christopher Browning spend the 32-page Afterward quarreling with Prof. Goldhagen???

3. Does Prof. Goldhagen fail to mention, much less discuss, St. Augustine’s and the Roman Catholic Church’s “Doctrine of Blood Guilt” that every Jew alive at any time INCLUDING THE PRESENT, is guilty of The “Murder” of Christ???

4. Accordingly, is the quarrel between Professors Browning and Goldhagen as worthless as medieval debate over “how many angels can dance on the head of a pin”???

***************
E. The “Ordinary Men” paperback additional afterward – “Twenty-Five Years Later”

1. Was the paperback “Ordinary Men” published in 2017, 25 years after the original 1992 publication of the hard-copy version???

2. In his 66-page “Twenty-Five Years Later” does Christopher Browning examine “four areas in which fruitful historical research has added to our knowledge and insight about the issues raised by the initial publication of “Ordinary Men” –

(A) Numerous studies of other battalions of the Order Police;

(B) Further contributions to the study of the motivation of “ordinary” participants in the Final Solution;

(C) A study of the contingent of Luxembourg police in the battalion that allows for a comparison of the German and non-German members of the unit; and

(D) A more-careful study of photographic evidence – both old and new – concerning Battalion 101.

3. So if Browning is confining his “Twenty-Five Years Later” to “issues raised by the initial publication of ‘Ordinary Men’” – isn’t Browning still STUDIOUSLY IGNORING St. Augustine’s and the Roman Catholic Church’s “Doctrine of Blood Guilt” that every Jew alive at any time INCLUDING THE PRESENT, is guilty of The “Murder” of Christ???

4. BTW re 2(C), according to the CIA’s World Factbook (https://www.cia.gov/the-world-factbook/ ... nd-society), is Luxembourg even today a country of only 671 thousand on Germany’s western border which is still overwhelmingly Roman Catholic???

5. So why would the Luxembourg members of Battalion 101 have any different view of St. Augustine’s and the Roman Catholic Church’s “Doctrine of Blood Guilt” that every Jew alive at any time INCLUDING THE PRESENT, is guilty of The “Murder” of Christ???
